Collection: Abstract Expressionist Wall Art

Abstract expressionism dropped the subject entirely. No landscape, no face, just paint, gesture and scale. Drips, slashes, fields of colour that take up the whole canvas. It came out of post-war New York and still feels like the most American way to fill a wall.

These pieces are big in spirit even at smaller sizes, and they do a lot of work in modern interiors: they add movement without adding clutter. Hang one over a sofa or behind a desk and the room suddenly has somewhere to look. Framed prints and fabric hangings, all ready to go up.
