Framed Wall Art That Arrives Ready to Hang

A frame is what makes a print read as art rather than a poster. It draws a boundary between the image and the wall, ties several pieces into one grouping, and signals that somebody chose it on purpose. Every piece in this collection ships framed with hardware included — no framer, no separate fee, no waiting three weeks.

141 pieces, framed in slim aluminium and sized from 16×32 up to 96×96 in. The frame is a 1 mm low-profile design with no glazing, which changes two things you'd normally accept as unavoidable: there's no glass to reflect a lamp or a window, and even the largest formats stay light enough for standard drywall anchors.

Not sure which size you need? The frame size chart below maps every common size to an aspect ratio and the wall it usually suits. Then filter the grid by size, subject and palette.

What a Framed Art Wall Actually Needs

Framing does four things an unframed print can't, and each one is worth understanding before you choose.

  • It defines. A frame creates a clean edge between artwork and wall. Without it, a print reads as temporary — something taped up rather than placed.
  • It coordinates. One frame profile repeated across several pieces is what turns a collection of unrelated images into a single considered grouping. This matters more than matching subjects.
  • It elevates. The same image framed and unframed reads as two different price points to anyone standing in the room.
  • It survives. A framed piece holds its shape. Unframed prints curl, corners lift, and edges soften within a year on most walls.

Choose the frame colour to match your window and door trim rather than your furniture — it creates a design language across the whole room instead of one wall. Start browsing subjects in abstract, landscape, nature and still life.

Wall Art Frame Sizes: A Complete Chart

Every common frame size, its aspect ratio, and the wall it usually suits. Match the size to the furniture beneath it — two-thirds of the furniture width is the rule that governs all of these.

Frame size (in.) Aspect ratio Orientation Typically used for
20×201:1SquareGallery wall unit, small vignette, powder room
20×302:3PortraitNarrow wall, beside a door, stairwell run
24×362:3PortraitEntryway, hallway, beside shelving
30×403:4EitherAbove a console, loveseat or dresser
36×483:4EitherAbove a full or queen bed
40×401:1SquareSquare walls, above a round dining table
40×602:3EitherAbove a queen bed or standard sofa
48×364:3LandscapeAbove a standard sofa
60×403:2LandscapeAbove an 84-inch sofa, dining wall
72×483:2LandscapeAbove a sectional, large dining wall
96×482:1LandscapeFeature wall, conference or reception wall
96×961:1SquareDouble-height walls and stairwells

Hanging height: centre the piece 57–60 inches from the floor, or leave 6–10 inches between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame. On a gallery wall, keep a consistent 2–4 inch gap between frames and treat the whole arrangement as one object when you measure.

Framed Canvas Wall Art vs Framed Fabric Prints

Search for canvas and framed wall art and you'll find both formats sold side by side. We make one of them. Here's the honest difference, so you can decide which suits your wall before you buy either.

Framed canvas Our framed fabric print
SurfaceInk printed onto woven canvasDye bonded into the fabric itself
ConstructionCanvas stretched over a timber bar, then framedFabric held taut in a 1 mm aluminium frame

If a deep gallery-wrap profile is specifically the look you're after, we're not the right supplier. If you want a flat, contemporary framed finish that stays taut and hangs light, that's what this collection is. See the format up close in fabric wall art.

Going bigger

Large Framed Wall Art

Framing is usually what stops people going large, because a conventional frame at 72 inches becomes heavy, expensive and awkward to mount. A 1 mm aluminium frame with no glazing removes most of that problem.

  • Weight stays manageable. Most large formats hold on rated drywall anchors rather than needing structural mounting. Use two anchors instead of one at width so the piece can't rotate out of level.
  • No glass to handle. The single biggest risk with large framed art is the glazing — heavy, fragile and awkward for one person. There isn't any here.
  • Subject matters more at scale. Landscapes, abstracts and bold graphic work read from across a room. Fine detail overwhelms past about 60 inches.
  • Check the route before you order. Anything over 60 inches on the long side needs a clear path from your entrance to the wall. Stair turns are where oversized pieces get stuck.
  • One large piece beats a grouping. Calmer to look at, one set of anchors, and no seven-way spacing decision to get wrong.

Framed Wall Art for Living Room Walls

The living room is where framing earns its money, because it's the room guests see and the room with the most competing surfaces — a TV, shelving, windows, a fireplace. A defined edge is what stops art getting lost among them.

  • Above the sofa. Two-thirds sofa width, 6–10 inches of clearance above the back cushion, centred on the sofa rather than the wall.
  • Opposite the TV. The wall people actually face while sitting. A framed piece here is looked at far more than the one behind the sofa.
  • Flanking a fireplace. A matched pair either side reads as deliberate architecture. One piece above the mantel, never a grouping.
  • Frame colour against trim. In a room with white trim and a dark floor, a white frame recedes and a black frame advances. Pick based on whether you want the art to sit back or step forward.
  • Consistency across the room. If you already own framed pieces, matching the profile matters more than matching the subject or palette.

Browse by room instead in living room wall art, or see bedroom and office collections.

Choosing a Frame Colour

Frames come in aluminium, in four finishes. Each one does something different to the same artwork.

  • Matte black. The modern default, and the safest choice in almost any room. Defines the artwork crisply and suits contemporary, transitional and even traditional interiors.
  • White. Recedes against light walls and lets the image dominate. The right pick for minimal and coastal rooms, and for gallery walls where you don't want frame lines competing.
  • Gold. Adds warmth and a touch of formality. Best in traditional, art-deco and eclectic rooms. Use it sparingly — one or two gold-framed pieces per room is plenty.
  • Silver. Cooler and quieter than gold, warmer than black. Works well with stainless, glass and grey-toned schemes where black would feel too hard.

The trim rule: matching frame colour to your window and door trim ties a room together more reliably than matching it to furniture. Trim is fixed; sofas get replaced.

Where Framed Wall Art Works Best

Six placements, and what each one wants.

1. Above sofas and beds

The classic anchor. A defined frame edge reads as finished above main furniture in a way an unframed print never does.

2. Gallery walls

Framing isn't optional here — the repeated frame profile is what creates the rhythm. Lay the arrangement out on the floor first, photograph it, then transfer to the wall.

3. Hallways and stairwells

High-traffic walls where consistency signals care. A run of identical frames at even spacing does more than mixed sizes.

4. Offices and studies

Framed art reads as professional. No glazing also means no reflection on video calls. See office wall art.

5. Dining rooms

One large framed piece or a matched pair. Formal rooms suit vintage still life and floral subjects in gold or black.

6. Entryways

The first wall guests see. It doesn't need to be the biggest piece in the house, but it should be the most decisive. See decorative wall art.

Framed Wall Art: Frequently Asked Questions

Is the frame included in the price?

Yes. Every piece in this collection is priced as a complete framed unit and ships ready to hang with mounting hardware included — no separate framing fee and no trip to a framer. The one exception is a replacement graphic, which is priced on its own because it fits a frame you already have.

What frame colours are available?

Aluminium in matte black, white, gold and silver. Every design is available in multiple finishes, and the options for each piece are listed on its product page. Matte black is the safest default; white recedes against light walls; gold suits traditional rooms; silver sits between the two.

What are the standard wall art frame sizes?

The most common are 20×20, 24×36, 30×40, 40×60 and 60×40 inches, covering 1:1, 2:3 and 3:2 aspect ratios. Our range runs from 16×32 up to 96×96 in. Choose by the furniture beneath the piece rather than by the wall: two-thirds of the furniture width is the target.

Do you sell framed canvas wall art?

No. We frame a sublimated fabric print rather than stretched canvas. The practical differences are a much slimmer profile, considerably less weight at large sizes, no stretcher bars to slacken over time, and a graphic that can be swapped or cleaned. If a deep gallery-wrap edge is what you want, this isn't the right collection.

Can I hang large framed art on drywall?

Usually yes. Because the frame is 1 mm aluminium with no glazing, large formats stay light enough for rated drywall anchors or toggle bolts. For anything over 30 lbs, anchor into a stud or spread the load across multiple points, and always use two anchors rather than one on a wide piece.

Is there glass over the print?

No. There's no glazing on any piece, which removes the two usual complaints about framed art: reflections from windows, lamps or a ring light on a video call, and the weight and fragility that glass adds at large sizes.

How do I clean a framed print?

Dust the frame with a soft cloth. Because the artwork is fabric rather than paper, the graphic itself can be removed from the frame and cleaned — which paper and canvas can't be. Follow the care instructions supplied with your piece rather than a general guide.

How do I space frames on a gallery wall?

Keep a consistent 2–4 inch gap between every frame and treat the whole arrangement as one object when you measure — centre the group at 57–60 inches from the floor, not each individual piece. Lay it out on the floor first and photograph it before making a single hole.

How much does framed wall art cost here?

This collection starts at $110 and rises with size, with the largest formats reaching into the $1,800–$2,100 range. Framing is included in every price. Each size and frame finish is priced on the product page.
